Sans Deckard is a self taught artist based in Cortland, New York. They work with a variety of mediums ranging from digital drawing, painting with acrylics, or using colored pencils to create stunning visual and literary art. Sans has been featured twice in the Annual Small Works showing at the McNeil Gallery in Cortland but holds monthly guided painting sessions at The Lamont Memorial Free Library in McGraw.  Sans spent most of their adolescence in The Lamont Library reading different “How to Draw x” books and trying to replicate the art inside of them. They are continuously inspired by a number of fantasy and dramas read on rainy days by the window in the young adult section. This is what inspired them to create their own comic and publish it on WEBTOON. Today, Sans is slowly building their name as a local artist, author and teacher within their community. They are still publishing their comics on a free platform while teaching people from their home town how to paint.

This program is funded by the Finger Lakes Library System Outreach Mini Grant 2026-2027.
